Maximal sustainable

Max’s Mints wants to be as good as possible. To achieve that, we do our best to understand and improve every part of our production process! Read more below to find out how we try to achieve that!

The makers of Max’s Mints, Max’s father and sister Floor, have a high-quality standard. That’s why Max’s Mints are, in addition to being organic, also made from 100% natural ingredients and free from artificial colors, flavors, and fragrances. You won’t find any weird ingredients in Max’s Mints such as artificial sugars, stabilizers or gelatin. Finally, the mints are vegan and allergens free.

Max’s Mints are packaged in a can because tin is one of the few materials that can be infinitely recycled without the loss of quality. At the moment, is about 93% of the can in the Netherlands separated from the rest of our waste by large magnets and recycled. In addition, the paper in Max’s Mints can is made from FSC certified paper. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international organization that is committed to preserving and managing forests worldwide.

Packaging process

When the mints and the cans are ready, they go to sheltered employment to be packed. At the sheltered employment work people who are at a distance from the labor market and are given the opportunity to get back to work and to make a useful contribution to society!

Was that all?

With a good product, good packaging and packaging process we’re not there yet, there’s always room for improvement! That is why we are investigating, for example, whether we can use paper extracted from grass from the Amsterdam area. And whether we can reduce our Carbon Footprint by means of compensation. But everything in its own time 🙂
